Processor. I normally pick the fastest processor on the price/performance curve that sits right where cost starts increasing faster than performance gain. You can cheat a little here and hopefully still get 3 years from the hardware. Just don’t count on upgrading the processor later – no matter what any salesman tells you.
The budget planner plans to be around for several years, so they have to plan for the future as well. In many cases realistically, it will take more than one year to get what is needed. So, they have a long term plan as well and don’t give up if turned down. In some cases the budget might be submitted and resubmitted after getting rejected or sent back for changes. If the budget (or budget item) is turned down, it might have to be submitted again next year. When things come to a crawl or just don’t get done in time that money just might get approved later.
Now it comes to the location of your hard drive. If you are a seasoned user, you have probably personalized your computer and will know where this is. However, if you are new, you will be looking for the “Macintosh HD”. This will usually be a very clear icon on the computer, which is a small, metal rectangle. It will look like computer hardware.
A far more serious problem that can cause you computer to crash is hard disk errors. Data is stored in units on the hard disk called sectors. These sectors can become damaged or corrupt. Sometimes new hard disks can have faulty sectors due to the manufacturing process, but they are marked and given more space to make up for the damaged ones. If you try and access a file that is on one of these bad sectors, then your system will crash. Over time, your hard disk will get more bad sectors. What’s more is that if you bump your computer tower, and the head that reads the information on the disk makes contact with the disk itself, it can cause a massive scratch, which will result in serious data loss as well as system crashes.
Effective reading requires reader mind and eye run on the same speed. So he can understand the meaning of the context as well as speed up the reading. But many people unable to do the two things together because of their old habit. They still try to read in a way that they were used to in the school. That might not be helpful in reading huge content. Also the method taught in the school is inadequate to learn the speed reading skill. In short, most of reading problems have not been dealt with during initial education.
Of course, there will be times where you’ll be asked to provide an overall project estimate. You may get this wrong, underestimate the time you’ll need to spend on it and end up putting in a few unbillable hours. That’s OK, just so long as it doesn’t become a habit!
Of course to show them the numbers the budget planner has to keep track of them or count them. Computers, computer users, servers, routers, switches and phones can be counted. Help desk and support issues should be logged so they can be counted too. This can also help solve repeated problems and track employee performance. Now if the support issues are not logged make sure they are for next year.
Often buying the latest technology is foolhardy, both in terms of cost (it’s usually much more expensive to buy the latest-greatest), but also in terms of headaches.
